A debate on customs affairs was organized among third-year students majoring in “Economics” and “International Trade and Logistics” by the Department of Customs Affairs and Management of the Academy of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (ASCCA). The debate was held as part of the course “Organization and Management of Customs Affairs” and was attended by the course instructor, Captain of the Customs Service Mehri Taghiyeva.

The debate focused on students’ ability to provide brief and well-grounded explanations of practical issues related to various areas of customs affairs, as well as on the assessment of their knowledge and skills. Within the framework of the debate, case studies were presented on topics including “Green Corridor Participant,” “Import of Mobile Phones,” “Proper Calculation of Customs Payments,” “Country of Origin,” “Temporary Import Procedure,” and “Relevant Decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers.”

Then, the teams presented and justified their arguments on each topic based on real-life case studies. Enriched with interactive questions, answers, and discussions, the event provided an opportunity to assess students’ theoretical knowledge gained from the “Organization and Management of Customs Affairs” course, as well as their practical analytical skills.
