“Knowledge Day” Celebrated at Academy of the State Customs Committee

A ceremonial event dedicated to “Knowledge Day” and the commencement of the new academic year was held at the Academy of the State Customs Committee.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the dear memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of our country was honored with a minute of silence.

Addressing to the participants, Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Lieutenant General of the Customs Service Shahin Baghirov, congratulated the faculty members, students, and parents on the beginning of the new academic year, emphasized that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the consistent and purposeful reforms have resulted in significant achievements across all sectors of the country, including education, and have strengthened the training of highly qualified national specialists.

It was noted that comprehensive reforms are being carried out in the country aimed at developing the education system and aligning it in accordance with modern standards are ongoing. At the same time, the chairman encouraged young people to develop themselves as worthy citizens of the victorious nation’s future and to grow as highly qualified professionals dedicated to ensuring the permanent protection of our sovereignty.

The Head of the Academy of the State Customs Committee, Major General of the Customs Service Gulu Novruzov, noted that all necessary conditions have been created at the Academy for students to support students’ academic and professional development and wished them success in their studies.

Then, Maleyka Majidova, the mother of Patriotic War hero and martyr Elchin Mansurov, along with other speakers, congratulated the students and advised them to work diligently for the development and prosperity of our independent state.

At the end of the event, student ID cards and memorabilia gifts were presented to the first-year students who achieved high admission scores.

It should be noted that in the 2025/2026 academic year, 140 students at the undergraduate level and 10 students at the master’s level earned the right to study at the Academy of the State Customs Committee.
