ASCCA Hosts Event Dedicated to the History of the Constitution and Sovereignty
An event on the theme “Our Constitution and Sovereignty History,” dedicated to the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty,” was held at the Academy of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (ASCCA). The event was jointly organized by the State Customs Committee, ASCCA, and the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations’ Union (ASYOU).
The event was attended by ASCCA leadership, staff, and students, as well as employees of the structural divisions of the State Customs Committee. Among the participants were Rashad Zeynalov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations Union; Nizami Aliyev, Lieutenant Colonel of the Special Forces, veteran of the Patriotic War and commander of the “Legendary Battalion”; Ilkin Agazade, retired Major of the Special Forces and veteran of the Patriotic War; and Elmar Huseynov, retired Lieutenant Colonel and military expert.
In his opening speech, the Head of the Academy, Major General of the Customs Service Gulu Novruzov, highlighted the political and social factors behind the adoption of the Constitution of independent Azerbaijan, the role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and the importance of continuing this political legacy under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He emphasized the significance of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” and its role in strengthening statehood, calling on young people to respect state laws and sovereignty and to safeguard these values.
Speaking at the event, Rashad Zeynalov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations’ Union, emphasized the importance of educating young people and students in the spirit of patriotism and preserving state traditions, and spoke about the Union’s activities in this direction.
As part of the event, Patriotic War veterans Ilkin Agazade and Nizami Aliyev, as well as military expert Elmar Huseynov, shared their views and experiences on Azerbaijan’s struggle for independence, military history, and statehood traditions.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which participants’ questions were answered in detail.
