ASCCA Marks 28 May – Independence Day
The Academy of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (ASCCA) held a commemorative event dedicated to 28 May – Independence Day. The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A video dedicated to 28 May – Independence Day was then screened. Addressing the participants, Head of ASCCA, Major General of the Customs Service Gulu Novruzov, spoke about the historical significance of Independence Day, emphasizing that the republic established 108 years ago represents the continuation of Azerbaijan's statehood traditions. He noted that under the leadership of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Azerbaijani state was strengthened and that, as a result of the policies pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, the country's sovereignty has been fully restored. He also wished the Azerbaijani people continued peace, prosperity, and well-being. Speaking at the event, Samir Hasanov, PhD in History and lecturer at ASCCA, discussed the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the achievements made in the field of state-building. He emphasized that, as the successor to the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, Azerbaijan is currently experiencing the strongest period in its history. The event continued with a presentation by Amina Ahmadova, a fourth-year ASCCA student majoring in Law, on "The Declaration of Independence of Azerbaijan." The event concluded with a recitation of Nariman Hasanzade's poem "Azerbaijan" by Ismayil Dadashzade, a first-year ASCCA student majoring in International Trade and Logistics.

ASCCA and BEU Co-organize 10th International Scientific Conference
The Academy of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (ASCCA) and Baku Engineering University (BEU) jointly organized the 10th International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The event began with a moment of silence in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan's martyrs, followed by the performance of the National Anthem. In his opening remarks, Aghasi Malikov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Issues at BEU, emphasized the significance of the conference for young researchers, noting that more than 520 papers from various countries had been submitted to this year's event. Speaking at the conference, Professor Jamila Namazova, Deputy Head of ASCCA for Scientific Affairs, highlighted the role of innovative technologies in science and education. Professor Serik Sansyzbayev, Doctor of Economics and Professor at Turan University of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also stressed the importance of the conference in promoting international scientific cooperation. The plenary session followed, featuring presentations by Humeyra Mustafayeva, Head of the Department of General Subjects at BEU, on "Baku as an Example of Multicultural Architecture in the Late Nineteenth and Early Twentieth Centuries," and Asif Ganbayev, Associate Professor at the Department of Information Technologies and Technical Sciences at ASCCA, on "The Application of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Customs Activities." The two-day conference, covering more than 25 scientific fields, continued with parallel section sessions.

ASCCA Hosts First English-Language "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" Competition
For the first time, the Academy of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (ASCCA) organized an English-language intellectual competition entitled "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? – ASCCA Edition" to develop students' intellectual potential, analytical thinking, and foreign language skills. Opening the event, Humay Bayramova, an English language instructor at ASCCA, welcomed the participants, spoke about the significance of the initiative, explained the rules of the competition, and served as the moderator. The competition was held among first-year students from all undergraduate degree programmes offered at ASCCA. Participants answered questions in English covering general knowledge, their fields of study, and a wide range of other topics. Following an exciting and closely contested competition, Tugay Karimli, a first-year student majoring in International Trade and Logistics, emerged as the winner. After correctly answering 14 questions, he won the competition's top cash prize. Other participants who distinguished themselves in the competition also received cash prizes based on the stages they successfully completed. Addressing the participants at the closing ceremony, Deputy Head of ASCCA, Anar Suleymanov, emphasized that intellectual and foreign language initiatives of this kind make a significant contribution to students' knowledge, broad outlook, and professional development. He congratulated the students on their excellent performance and wished them continued success.
